Subsidiary Cloudwise partners with Sophos to launch new cybersecurity service
In short
Odin Groep subsidiary Cloudwise has entered into a strategic partnership with Sophos to strengthen cybersecurity in education. An agreement was signed this month to establish a comprehensive and affordable cybersecurity-as-a-service (CaaS) solution, specifically designed for schools. This 24/7 security service for all data and workplaces marks an important step forward in safeguarding the digital education environment.
Digitalisation makes learning more interactive and flexible, but it also introduces new risks. Schools manage thousands of devices, accounts, and data sources, making them an attractive target for cybercriminals. Ransomware and phishing attacks are increasingly disrupting education and putting both privacy and continuity under pressure.
From 2027 onwards, Dutch primary and secondary schools will be required to comply with the Information Security & Privacy (IBP) Norm Framework. This increases the urgency to address cybersecurity in a structured way. It is no longer a luxury, but a fundamental condition for safe and effective education.
That is why Cloudwise, as part of Odin Groep, is introducing a new cybersecurity service together with Sophos, tailored to the needs of schools. This solution combines Sophos’ global expertise in cybersecurity with Cloudwise’s in-depth knowledge of the education sector and offers:
-
Protection against phishing, ransomware, and other digital threats
-
24/7 monitoring and management by security specialists
-
A single, user-friendly platform for IT administrators
-
Flexible, scalable solutions suitable for both primary schools and school groups
Through this partnership, we are taking an important step towards a secure digital learning environment in which students and teachers can focus fully on what truly matters: education.
